Scanfiber's products have many applications thanks to the flexible and advanced fiber composites. Applications range from military and law enforcement agencies such as armies, navies, air forces, police and special forces, to civilian and humanitarian aid organizations.

Scanfiber's lightweight armor is primarily used in vehicles, ships or aviation clothing, where only a minimum of extra weight is permitted. The principle behind fiber composites used as armor is a dense tissue of extremely strong and solid fibers that are glued together in a special heating process. In this heating process, the strong fibers and the matrix (glue) are pressed hard together so that it is transformed into a lightweight panel. The transformation provides excellent protection against projectiles and fragments, due to the damping effect of the connected fibers, as well as the high level of force impact they can absorb. Depending on the level of ballistic protection, the composite panels can either be used alone or they can be combined with a surface based on either ceramic or ballistic steel to achieve a very high level of protection. The purpose of the surface is to crush or blunt the incoming projectile so that it is stopped more effectively by the composite panel behind it.
